In order to pull reference data for ballpark pricing, we base our numbers off of a 230lb carcass which is the animal after harvest, known as the “hang” weight.
From there, we can roughly calculate about 170lbs in “take home” product but this is variable and depends on the cuts you select. Example: bone in vs. boneless options.
Another common question we get is “how big of a freezer do we need?” For a whole hog at this size, we say around a 4.5 - 5 cubic ft. freezer should accommodate.
